Forest school student exchange daily diary

Day 2 March 12, 2019

Today, it was my second day of Forest school exchange, and was exciting to be going to the school. Yesterday, I was over amazed by the school life in the Forest school, which really differ from our, Rikkyo’s school life, so my fatigue wasn’t really healed enough. Although this morning was extremely sleepy, I managed to get up and to prepare for the school. (Nevertheless, I took a little nap on the way to the Forest school) When I realized, I was at the front door of the forest school after fighting against the desire of sleep.

Today’s time table was quite simple.

1st class: ART

2nd class: ART

3rd class: ART

4th class: DRAMA

5th class: DRAMA

There were only two classes that I had to take for this day, which resulted not holding my pen even once.

ART in 1st 2nd and 3rd class, was pretty much fun to do. We drew some paintings imitating from the artwork of the famous British artists, and modified a little. Unexpectedly, I completed my work far better than my expectation, which made my buddy uneasy, because, I drew better than him. He told me that he has been taking this art class since when he entered this school, which means 3 years of effort. And he was in down in the dumps. However this circumstance tightened our relationship. His jealous urged him to talk with me and I was, of course, welcome for that, and it really helped having conversation with other boys at same age.

DRAMA in 4th and 5th class, was taken place in the school hall. What we did is reading the script of the musical ” THE BLOOD BROTHERS “and try acting some of the paragraphs. It was my first experience to be doing drama class, in English. Sentence wasn’t so difficult to read, so I could easily understand what is going on in the story. This helped me a lot to concentrate on acting, not for remembering the script or understanding it. At the very last minutes of the class, we’ve done a play based on what we did today together and it was excellent to finish off the school day.

The play went really well in my team, so I didn’t have anything to regret.

This is pretty much it. I’m looking forward to the rest of the week.
